Help Us Keep the Meriden Humane Society Open!

The Meriden Humane Society is located in Meriden, CT between the towns of New Haven and Hartford, CT.  This no-kill shelter has been instrumental in saving hundreds of animals since its inception.

The shelter is now in danger of ceasing to exist due to the overwhelming numbers of animals abandoned at their door and not enough donations to take care of them all.

This petition is aimed at the media to express how important a place like the Meriden Humane Society is in any community to save the most homeless pets possible.

Cats and dogs have both been abandoned in front of the door of the Meriden Humane Society, in particular during the night!  Volunteers come in the next day and find these poor animals left outside as if they were trash.  They have no choice, but take them in.  Unfortunately, careless and selfish people have been abusing the system so much that the shelter has been overwhelmed and filled to the max with abandoned animals.  As a result, they do not have enough volunteers, donations, and foster support to care for them.

Please join me in signing this petition to express to the media,
 1. why the Meriden Humane Society should be helped to stay open
 2. how important their life-saving work is

You can also go to their website to help by adopting, fostering, or volunteering if you live in the area.  If you do not live in the area, consider giving a monetary donation!

You may think that this petition only concerns our area.  Well, actually, no.  There are many places like the Meriden Humane Society all over the US that are struggling to survive.  It is important for everyone to support their existence in our communities so as to care for the homeless companion animals.
