Stop Genetic Discrimination in Canada!

Genetic discrimination is a reality in Canada. All Canadians are affected, if you get tested, your results could be used against you. Many Canadians have been unfairly treated and discriminated against based on their DNA information.

Canada is the only G8 country that does not protect its citizens from genetic discrimination. Right now the Canadian Senate is reviewing Bill S-218 -- the most comprehensive piece of anti-discrimination legislation ever proposed in Canada. Bill S-218 would prohibit genetic discrimination and add genetic fairness provisions to Canada's labour and human rights codes. This will ensure that genetic information is used for health and research purposes only, without fear of repercussion.

The Huntington Society of Canada is dedicated to preventing genetic discrimination. Join us today and learn more about genetic fairness in Canada.

Inherited diseases affect more than 87% of Canadians and if you get tested for a genetic disorder, the results could be used against you. Many Canadians have been unfairly treated due to their DNA.
