Stop the Attacks on Our Voting Rights!

Voting rights across the US are under attack.

In June, 2013 the Voting Rights Act was dealt a massive blow when the Supreme Court struck down portions of the law which prevented states from enacting discriminatory regulations at the ballot box.

Ever since then, state after state has pushed through rules that limit early voting, add arduous voter ID requirements, or make registering to vote much more difficult — often seemingly targeted specifically at keeping people of color, young voters, and low income voters away from the polls.

Recently there have hard fought victories challenging discriminatory voting laws across the country. Yet, despite these recent victories, discrimination in voting still exists in our country.

Discrimination should be unacceptable to all elected leaders of the greatest democracy in the world.

For years, the League of Women Voters has worked to give voters the information they need and to fight against arduous, discriminatory measures that undercut our right to vote.

In this historic election year, we cannot stand back and watch as the right to vote for citizens across the country is challenged. Take action today: add your name to stand with the League of Women Voters in the fight to end discrimination at the ballot box and protect all Americans' right to vote!
