Residents of Silverton,

Adaptive Broadband, a wireless internet company based out of Salem, is attempting to deploy an affordable, reliable, internet service in your area. The city has passed legislation that prohibits us from deploying the equipment necessary to provide this service, and we are asking for your help to amend this legislation.

We are aware of concerns within the community over the looks, and safety of wireless radios. We would like to take this opportunity to inform the community of our plans, and address any concerns that you may have with our proposal. We hope that you will join us on July 6th, 2015. At 7pm at the Silverton Council Chambers, 421 S. Water St. for a question and answer session, and to make your opinions known to the city regarding this issue.

Our Proposal -
To place equipment in 3 locations within city limits.

The Water Tower at Located at the corner of Keene Ave. and Eureka Ave.

An office building at 143 S 1st St.

A tower with equipment at the property adjacent to the intersection of Monitor Rd. & Sage St.

We require much smaller, and much less equipment, than a typical cell phone tower. Generally our equipment takes up less than 2sq ft of visible space, and can be color matched to the existing structure, making it almost unnoticeable. We will be deploying some “test” gear on the water tower this month. They will not be turned on, and only serve as a visual example of what a future deployment would look like.

Our deployment would take approximately 2 months and would cover most of the citizens of Silverton and surrounding areas like Marqum and Abaqua. We would be hiring 2 temporary workers, and 1 permanent position. We would also be leasing an office space downtown in hopes to become a permanent part of the Silverton business community.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please let us know.
