Private Carl Adamson was serving with the Cheshire Regiment in Northern Ireland when the armour-plated Land Rover he was travelling in flipped over at a roadblock and trapped him underneath. The pressure crushed his skull and broke every single bone in his face. After 14 operations in over 12 years, Carl has lost all his vision in one eye and can see almost nothing out of the other.
