Promote Solar Energy in North Carolina
Climate change is becoming less of a debate and unfortunately more of a reality. 2012 is now officially the hottest year ever recorded in the continental United States and scientists overwhelmingly agree that the burning of fossil fuels is tied directly to climate change. It's time for North Carolina to get serious about expanding our commitment to clean renewable energy like solar power and to begin to reduce our dependence on oil and natural gas.
Expanding our commitment to this form of clean renewable energy would promote competition, create local North Carolina jobs, and allow us to become more energy independent.
Send a message to Governor McCrory and tell him it's time to make solar energy a priority for North Carolina.
Dear Governor McCrory,
Subject: Support solar energy in North Carolina!
I urge you to support solar energy in North Carolina. North Carolina's renewable energy industry has blossomed over the past decade and seen remarkable job growth when other NC industries are cutting jobs. In 2011 alone, the NC clean energy industry generated more than $3 billion in revenue and created over 14,800 new jobs.
Promoting solar energy in North Carolina would create more local jobs and allow our state to become more energy independent.
Please make solar energy a priority in your administration!
