Help Save Packerton Yards
We, the undersigned, urge the Pennsylvania Historic & Museum Commission
to
save the historic 1899 brick and steel structure known as the Lehigh Valley
Railroad Packerton Yards Store House. It is the only significant
remaining
structure associated with the 1863 Packerton Yards and without this
structure, the history of the yards and the thousands of workers that
worked
there for over a century, will be lost.
We urge you to REVERSE your decision allowing the Carbon County
Commissioners to demolish the building. We are concerned that by
demolishing
this building we will loose a historically significant structure of
monumental importance.
