Demand that a wildlife park stops sending lions & tigers to canned hunt farms & bone exporters

Lions and tigers from Seaview Predator Park in South Africa are being sold to game farms known for canned hunting, as well as the exporting of animal bones to countries like Vietnam.

Seaview Predator Park promotes itself as a wildlife sanctuary and allows tourists to pet lions and tigers for a fee.

However - Eastern Cape Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism has confirmed Seaview has sent 22 lions to Cradock hunting reserve Tam Safaris since 2008, three of them this year.

Furthermore, two tigers have been sent to South Africa’s leading bone exporter, Letsatsi la Africa, since 2008 and nine lions were sent last year.

The owners of the park deny any involvement in the canned lion hunt or bone industry despite failing to provide documents to back up their assertions, saying the farms that bought the lions had signed a memorandum of understanding stating that the lions would not be hunted.

This comes after a local Municipality refused to give Seaview Predator Park a rates rebate earlier this year, as it could not be sure the park was not participating in canned hunting.

Seaview Predator Park promotes itself as a wildlife sanctuary – it should not be aligning itself to the sadistic canned hunt and bone industry by sending its animals to people that make money from animal cruelty. It should also support its assertions and produce documentation to prove they are not involved in the canned hunt or bone industry.
