We the undersigned, want the following parties to meet and discuss how the Graphic Design Program at Conestoga College can maintain its 40 year enviable reputation as one of the best in Canada.

Graphic Design's Program Advisory Committee, students, faculty and the applicable College Administration should meet to find out how this program can maintain designated space that fits within the parameters laid out in the response letter.

Designated space is more than just about space. The current program's environment mimics industry studio and agency standards, encourages creativity and real collaboration, and creates a sense of community. Dedicated space is an essential component to how the program is delivered and maintains a consistent caliber of graduate-a quality the design and advertising industry has come to expect from Conestoga. It must be preserved.

It is especially important for a publily funded institution to be transparent to its community. Fiscal responsibility does not equal poor planning and medicore compromise, especially when it comes to education. The Program Advisory Committee, students, faculty and College Administration must work together and devise a smart and sustainable plan for this program to maintain designated space.

This petition of names is comprised of students, graduates, former students, current and former advisory committee members and key industry employers from across Canada. The names in this petition will let concerned people at Conestoga College know that removing designated space from the cirriculum will drastically impede the skill level of future graduates from this course and strip the program of the unique and innovative edge that is currently giving it an industry stronghold.
