Save Endangered Snow Leopards and Their Habitat

The snow leopard is one of the most unique and beautiful species found in Central Asia. Tragically, they're also one of the most endangered. Thanks to human threats, there are currently only 4,000 and 6,500 snow leopards left in the wild.

But there is hope for a brighter future for the snow leopard.

Kyrgyz President AlmazbekAtambaev initiated & hosted Global Snow Leopard Forum in 2013. It was the 1st ever high-level conference dedicated to snow leopard conservation that brought all 12 range countries together, and it lead to the Bishkek Declaration, an unprecedented commitment to saving the cat.

The plan's main objective is to save the snow leopard. The first, critical short-term goal to do so is to secure 23 landscapes for the snow leopard by 2020.

President Almazbek has been a been a leader in the work to protect snow leopards from extinction. Now it's time to stand with him and ensure the plan to preserve snow leopard habitat is fully implemented.
