The future of False Cape is to be decided in about two weeks
time.
For those of you who don't know False Cape is the 1st
beautiful point as your looking south from the esplanade in Cairns Australia- the
other side of Trinity Inlet. A develpoment consisitng of 1500
residential blocks and a hotel has been approved by Cairns
City Council and is awaitng approval by the federal
government.
The site borders Wet Tropics World Heritage area and the
Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and is critical habitat for
the cassowary and home to a variety of threatened species
including migatory species such as the dugong.
