Demand Justice for Abused Smithfield Workers

Brutal conditions, crippling injuries, inhumane treatment - this is what workers face this every day at Smithfield processing plants. Cited by Human Rights Watch, the National Labor Relations Board, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for creating an environment of intimidation and fear, Smithfield has strenuously resisted any attempts by their workers to organize a union.

The National Labor Relations Board has found that your company to routinely uses racial epithets, assault, threats of deportation, and unlawful firings to intimidate workers. This is outrageous and must stop.

Join with workers and community supports across the country to demand fair labor practices!

Dear Chairman Luter and CEO Pope:

I’m sending you this petition to urge you to stop
abusing your 5,500 employees in Tar Heel, North
Carolina.

The National Labor Relations Board has found that
your company to routinely uses racial epithets,
assault, threats of deportation, and unlawful
firings to intimidate workers.

Until you stop, when I see Smithfield products, I
will see worker abuse.

Sincerely,
