Japan – want to be seen as environmentally friendly? Stop killing whales and dolphins now!

Japan is positioning itself as wanting to stage an 'environmentally friendly' Olympics in 2020 – it vowed to make the environment a top priority in its winning bid.

The Japanese government has been aggressively marketing its ‘green credentials’ but continues to fall down on its pledge to stage an environmentally sustainable 2020 Olympics by continuing to hunt and kill ocean mammals.

Japan still retains the Taiji dolphin hunt and will continue to conduct whaling under the lie of 'scientific research.’

Condemned by governments and environmentalists around the world as inhumane - the Japanese government has attempted to defend the Taiji dolphin hunt by stating it is an ancient tradition but records has shown this is false.

Moreover, Japan recently announced plans for a new ‘scientific’ whaling programme in the Antarctic, just months after the International Court of Justice ruled its whaling in the Southern Ocean was illegal and must stop.

Japan – the world is calling on you to be friends of the environment by ceasing to slaughter dolphins at the Taiji dolphin hunt and to stop killing whales.
