Do Not Kill Horses at Maywood Park Racetrack!

  • by: Paige D
  • recipient: Illinois Racing Board

Horses are facing slaughter after Maywood Park Racetrack closes down.

These horses have dedicated their entire lives committed to a deadly sport that does not appreciate or value their worth.  In the United States alone, about 24 horses die a week at racetracks. They deserve to be placed in safe homes where they can peacefully live out the rest of their lives.  It is the least we can do.

We call for the ethical treatment of these horses by placing them in safe homes.

Do not slaughter horses at Maywood Park Racetrack!

Do not slaughter these horses!  They have committed their lives to a deadly sport that does not appreciate their worth and value as living beings.

The least the Illinois Racing Board can do is to ensure the ethical treatment of these horses.

Due to new information that has come to light, this petition is now directed to the Illinois Racing Board. Duke Johnston has stated in response to this petition, "We are sorry for the fate of these horses, and proposed a schedule that would provide free year round stabling. The Illinois Racing Board didn't grant our request."

Thank you for your support, please share this petition to help save these horses!
