Even if you've already signed a petition to end violence in Darfur, sign this one - the more we show our commitment the harder it gets to ignore the issue.
So far well over 400,000 people have been killed, over 3 million have been displaced and want to return home. Why is this being allowed to happen? Would this senseless killing be allowed to happen if it were taking place anywhere but Africa?
We have the power to stop this violence! Write your local congressmen and senators - tell them this is a top priority. Tell president Bush this needs to stop now! People are dying everyday, do not put this off for another minute, a child's life depends on your prompt action.
Watch the documentary "The Devil Came On Horseback" - it offers an in depth look at what's occurring in Darfur on a daily basis. We are all brothers and sisters in this world, we would not tolerate this in our country and we should not tolerate it anywhere!
Dear Mr. President, We the undersigned want you to take immediate action in response to the genocide occurring in Darfur. You would not allow this violence to happen to the American people and you cannot allow it to happen to our fellow brothers and sisters in Darfur.
Please take action now! It will be remembered as one of your most important acts as president of this country. If you fail to act it may be remembered as biggest failure. This cause is a just cause, its the type of cause that defines us as Americans, it's the type of cause that makes the United States the world leader in humanitarian aid.
You have the power to lead the way and show other countries that the United States does not stand for these atrocities and is doing something about it.
Very Respectfully Yours, Concerned Citizens of the United States
Keep up the great work. Look what you've accomplished!
