Protect Animals, the Environment, and Your Health - Pledge to be Veg!

Sponsored by: PETA
With every passing day, your life — and the lives of others — are affected by your food choices. Eating your veggies is good for your health, good for the environment, and, of course, good for animals! Take a look at the facts behind our food habits:
  • Animals in factory farms have little, or no, legal protection from cruelty. This same cruelty would be illegal if it were inflicted on dogs or cats. Yet farmed animals are just as intelligent and capable of feeling pain as the animals we cherish as companions.
  • Eating animal-based foods impairs the heartÂ’s ability to do its job. A major study in 2005 reconfirmed that those who ate the most meat were also at the greatest risk for heart disease.
  • Raising animals for food damages the environment more than nearly anything else we do. Environmental organizations agree: eating meat wastes natural resources, pollutes the water, destroys topsoil, and contaminates the air for everyone.

Please make a difference today by pledging to be vegetarian for one month. And if you're already vegetarian, you can help by asking your friends and family to sign the pledge to be veg!

Love them, don't eat them! "You know, we all oppose animal cruelty. But sometimes we forget that animals on farms suffer and feel pain like all other animals. They, too, deserve to be protected from harm and cruelty." - Charlotte Ross

I was veggie for 10 years, before turning vegan a year ago, so if you are already veggie why not pledge to become vegan, and save even more animals being cruelly treated for there by products!

I am new to the vegetarian life. I am on my fourth month. And I am loving it. I have not been sick once. I have not had stomache issues either. Nor have I been lazy and felt fatigued. I love being vegetarian. Even if the health benefits were dangerous, my love for animals would still keep me motivated. I have never done anything good for the world until i became vegetarian. It has really made me a better person. I feel new. I feel alive. I feel clean. I feel like a good person and I live life everyday knowing how important to the world I now truly am. Become vegetarian. Stick to it. It may be rough at first. In the end, you'll look back on life and think of what a great choice and how many animals you had saved. Spread the word. Save animals. Save yourself.

PETA a little extreme but just making noise about something they believe in. Ok. I do pledge to make a conscious effort at protecting animals, and to lessen consuming them in all facets of my life. I'm growing into fierce acceptance of my prior eating habits as well as changing also in a fierce way to more and more alternate - veggie - proteins. I try to choose organics now that they've finally made it to the southeast coast most readily, still expensive but someones got to begin the move toward them I think, so I will. Um I read an Indian prayer in it the human apologizes to the animal whose life hes about to or has already taken saying because of my necessity I do this (kill), "May the master of life who made you, Speedily provide you Another home, so there may be peace between me and thy spirit." Mary Austin -Partially quoted for what its worth, for me I think its healing in a way. I looked it up one night after I hit a deer. I was so sad. I liked to use the word fierce because people think vegans are brown Betty's with mealy mouths and pale skin, in a word -wimpy. Thats simply not true. Like the ol adage says "Don't mistake my kindness for weakness."
