WE THE PEOPLE OF TEXAS, invoke our reservations of rights as established in the US Constitution, Amendment 9, "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people" and the US Constitution, Amendment 10, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved for the States respectively, or to the people." to reestablish the fundamental right of the people to abolish government not responsive to the people.
WHEREAS: "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." WHEREAS: The political structure in the State of Texas no longer serves the people and the people are without recourse for the removal of elected or appointed officials of all political parties, or as independents, or in non-partisan elections:
RESOLVED: WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND, Governor Rick Perry immediately convene a Special Legislative Session to create a statewide law which provides for the People to recall any and all elected or appointed officials We The People deem to not be serving the ends of government for which they were elected or appointed.
