The heavily polluted Citarum River in Western Java in Indonesia.

The heavily polluted Citarum River in Western Java is a disgusting and very sad sight - both to tourists and to the population of Java.

All kinds of garbage float in the heavily polluted water. It is a disaster.

60% of the fishes of the Citarum river have disappeared, presumedly because they cannot live in such dirty water.

Poor people still fish in this heavily polluted water. It may cause various illnesses.

It is important to call attention to this misery. Something must be done about this heavy pollution. The river must be cleaned.
