Demand an End to Corporations Preying Upon Seniors In This Housing Crisis Because They Don't Receive Federal Subsidies

Retired people who have dedicated themselves to their communities and their country (teachers, nurses, fire fighters, veterans, etc.) should NOT be at the mercy of greedy corporations which lure them into renting apartments with lies; telling them their rents will not rise higher than the cost of living index and then hitting them with $50-$80 increases at the expiration of their leases. Worse yet, these companies feel NO obligation to answer questions about ANY decisions they make; including not renewing the leases of any activists who reach out to elected officials or the media about the company's lies and subsequent behavior, WITHOUT having to declare ANY reason for their decision.

I would like the law to protect seniors who sold their homes, gave away valuables they collected over a lifetime in order to adapt to apartment living, paid hundreds to thousands in moving costs, who formed a supportive, caring community, only to be forced to have to move AGAIN because they can no longer afford the rent while they still receive just enough to NOT BE ELIGIBLE for subsidized housing. These seniors are LITERALLY between a rock and a hard place!

Please be sensitive in this time when CEOs are billionaires while those of us who have worked all our lives have NOT seen any improvement in OUR conditions. Indeed, all we hear now, is how our monthly fixed incomes want to be CUT by those running for office. I believe America owes those of us who have worked and supported our communities and our country that much in our twilight years.
