The NCOs (non-commissioned officers) of Bravo Company 369th are currently with holding day-room privileges from soldiers, and have been doing so for many weeks due to the mistakes past soldiers have made. Reason one the NCOs have put in place restricted access to the rooms is lack of cleaning and disregard for property, of other soldiers personal or otherwise.
Reason two for taking away the day-room WERE to include behavioral issues. Past soldiers, that do not attend AIT on Ft. Gordon any longer, have been caught fighting and gambling in the day-rooms which are obviously not in regulation with Policy Letter 17.
With those facts stated, no two soldiers are the same. Just because NCOs have a bad experiences with prior classes doesn't mean that the following class should have to inherit their punishments. There are always people that will '"that will break the pattern". The argument for regaining day-room privileges is simple. We are not past soldiers and shouldn't be treated as if we are being punished, especially for something we did not do.
All we ask for as soldiers is to be given a fair opportunity to prove that we can handle the responsibilities and duties that come with have day-room privileges.
Our plan is to have each day-room open to each corresponding platoon. exceptions being females would take the first floor and third platoon males would share with first platoon males. All day day-room cleaning and rotation would be regulated like a CQ roster. With set hours of operation.
