In recent years, our personal liberties have suffered at the hands of the Bush administration and a Congress that has been afraid to stand up to the administration. As a new Congress begins, its time to set a new course for liberty and freedom.
Now that Congress has settled in after completing its "100 Hours Agenda," we must make it clear that we expect them to address issues critical to freedom-loving people. The important issues that must be addressed are:
Restore habeas corpus and due process
End torture in secret prisons
Stop warrantless eavesdropping on innocent Americans
Fix the Patriot Act and bring it in line with the Constitution
Take a stand for the Constitution and help restore the freedoms that were recently taken away. Tell Congress to protect freedom and the Constitution by resolving to make our liberties a priority in 2007!
We signed the “Tell Congress to Make Our Rights a Priority” petition!

None of the leading presidential candidates are calling for a complete end to the war & occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan, nor are they supporting a Single Payer Health Care- Medicare for All (which would save $350 billion) and provide comprehensive health care security for everyone. The insurance and pharmaceutical industries have enormous power both in Washington and in state legislatures. The electoral process is also privatized, in that insurance/pharmaceutical industries pay a lot of money to campaigns. For example, the Obama campaign is exploiting the ignorance of the voters who are unaware that Obama is receiving tons of money from the very corporations that are causing the problems in the first place. According to the Center for Responsive Politics: Insurance contributions for Clinton: $525,188, for Obama: $414,863, for McCain: $274,724. ( Check out White House For Sale, Center for Public Integrity, Center for Responsive Politics- which are non-partison research organizations- for factual info. pertaining to campaign contributions.) Obama, Clinton and McCain are not pushing to slash the bloated military budget, but rather calling to relocate troops to somewhere else in the Middle East/the Caspian Region to continue the War on Terror. Obama told the Chicago Tribune in 2004: "There's not that much difference between my position and George Bush's position..." He voted to renew the Patriot Act, and did not support impeachment of Bush & Cheney. Obama has ties to the Exelon Corp., the largest operator of nuclear reactors in the US, and one of his most generous financial backers. When Exelon failed to disclose radioactive leaks at one of its nuclear plants, Obama tried to push through a bill in the Senate last year that required such plants to inform state and local authorities of such cases, according to the NY Times. The NY Times reported that the final proposal was a watered down version of the original legislation that "played into the hands of the nuclear power industry." Obama has gotten at least $222,000 from Exelon employees for his presidential campaign, making the company his eighth largest contributor last year. Obama in fact, received 10 times more than Republican John McCain, who brought in the second largest haul from Exelon.(See Center for Responsive Politics, capitaleye.org for more info.) People are swept up with feel good slogans and empty rhetoric which have no connection to the real world. None of the leading presidential candidates have the courage and fortitude to confront the extremely powerful lobbies. For instance, the insurance/pharmaceutical industries- primarily responsible for lack of health care. The candidates ought to be demanding a Single Payer Plan that would eliminate the tremendous administrative overhead. All three candidates should be asking for govt. mandates- not individual mandates- to provide health care for all Americans as an entitlement for life.

Immigrants that want to do the right thing and work to make this country a better place have a say too. Those that just want to sponge off us should be sent back to their own country. The rights of the American people have been needing to be readdressed for quite a while now and it is about time this is done - otherwise there will be an uprising and there are plenty of Americans that will exercise their right to 'bare arms' to ensure that the People come first.

Whats even more disturbing is the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive, giveing Bush full directional power (marshall law) in the case of a national emergency. That and the idea of the North American Union along with the Amero should be abolished. All bush needs is one more 9/11 type of staged event to declare marshall law over the nation and go to war with Iran.......

This is not freedom, this is not the country we want to live in and this is not a place our children will want to live in. Have a heart and do what's right. Don't let the shadow government control America. Please stand up for us congress. Remember you are representing us- the men, women and children of the land. We are human beings, not cattle! You're all we have besides a civil war, and we shouldn't need that. Our rights were stolen from us, and we need them back. Honestly, I'd rather have all of my rights and terrorism run rampant than leave things the way they are in our country, or where they are going. I am not alone here.
We have faith in you, you know this because we elected you. You have the power to do what is right, so please don't let us down.

Today our nation is in grave danger of going the way of Nazi Germany, which was a terrorist police state under the Nazi Fuehrer Adolph Hitler
