Calling for the immediate legalisation of cannabis, the removal of cannabis from prohibitive legislation - and an immediate halt to the prosecution of people for the possession, cultivation or supply of cannabis. Subject to the necessary restrictions needed to ensure quality.

To free cannabis from prohibition thus enabling its full utilisation for all beneficial uses and research - for medicine, relaxant, fuel, fibre and food. This would lead to the solution of many of the major serious problems facing the world today - drug addiction, expensive medication, hunger, pollution and poverty. It would put the control of essential resources into the hands of local communities rather than multinational industrial corporations. Also by legalizing cannibis, and releasing all non-violent marijuana offenders from prison, would cut out the huge amount of prison overpopulation, and bring many innocent families back together.

Hi my name is Andrew Voss, and I use cannabis instead of what most people would take. For example, most people nowadays take synthetic compounds like aspirin or advil. I believe in having a personal freedom to do whatever you feel necessary to your own body and mind, whether good or bad. I would have to say legalization of Cannabis would pave the road to a lot of new great things. Cannabis can contribute to our environment by being a renewable fuel that doesn't cause effects to the enviornment. It can be cooked and eaten for our daily fiber and fatty acids. Cannabis can turn around the car industry, by depleting oil dependency and by being able to use a renewable resource. Cannabis is also the strongest fiber known to man, Making cannabis the most beneficial plant known to man. I do not agree with legalizing all drugs to stop the "war" on drugs. I do however, stand by the side of cannabis our most beneficial resource known to man.

It's a plant. And if you happen to set it on fire and inhale, there are some effects!

Cannabis should be sold in stores the same exact way cigarettes are. Legalize it, produce it, package it, sell it in cigarette packs, tax it. I'm all for keeping other drugs illegal, but Cannabis is less harmful than alcohol and tobacco, it should not be illegal.

For medical reason's only with a Dr.s prescription. Only to be used at one's residence not in any public area. If someone is arrested for selling no mercy they broke the law.

Cannibus should be legalized for Medical reasons!! It does help with pain for Cancer patients and also for people with Multiple Sclerosis. People who use it for medical reasons should be allowed to do so WITH a doctor's prescription.

I am so sick of looking over my shoulder like a common criminal. I have smoked it for thirteen years and you have never caught me. I spend about three grand a year on weed. Do you think you could use that money? Legalize it and tax it already. You know you can't stop me and everyone else from using it.

According to the prestigious European medical journal, The Lancet, "The smoking of cannabis, even long-term, is not harmful to health. It would be reasonable to judge cannabis as less of a threat than alcohol or tobacco."... ... American citizens that have admitted to using the following within the past 12 months:... ... %u2022 Tobacco - 84.9 million... %u2022 Alcohol - 161.6 million... %u2022 Marijuana - 25.4 million... ... (Statistics from: http://www.drugabusestatistics.samhsa.gov/)... ... Millions of Americans responsibly USE marijuana. People who ABUSE marijuana can get help like people who ABUSE alcohol. Stop arresting responsible marijuana smokers. In recent years, we have significantly reduced the prevalence of drunk driving and tobacco smoking. We have not achieved this by prohibiting the use of alcohol and tobacco or by targeting and arresting adults who use alcohol and tobacco responsibly, but through honest educational campaigns. We should apply these same principles to the responsible use of marijuana. Millions of Americans responsibly USE marijuana. People who ABUSE marijuana can get help like people who ABUSE alcohol. Stop arresting responsible marijuana smokers. Make this a better free country.

So you want to know how you can become more active in getting marijuana legalized and regulated for responsible adult use? First and foremost, you need to join The National NORML www.norml.org For a small amount each year, you can put your money to work in getting out the word that marijuana is a plant & shouldn't be a crime! To find the NORML chapter nearest you Third and Most important of all, GO OUT AND VOTE! If you don't vote then you can't bitch! Without your participation someone else is getting their views across and most likely they are trying to get you put away in jail for smoking a joint. Other stuff you can do include: Educate yourself on the facts! Knowing what it is going on inregards to laws and statistics makes your points more valid. You don't want to sound like a stupid stoner do you, dude? Remember don't talk to police if approached on the street or if they pull you over in your car. Always SAY "NO" to police searches!!! ANYTHING YOU SAY CAN AND WILL be used against you in court. Law Enforcement Officers can make no promises about being easier on you or letting you go if you give yourself up to any illegal activity. COPS ARE TRAINED LIARS, most of them will do whatever it takes to get you busted. Just say no to any searches and if you are arrested repeat over and over again "I want to see my lawyer!" If you aren't under arrest then ask "Can I go now?" Be respectful and make the cop's job easier by not arguing with them, running away, touching them or giving yourself up. Don't give yourself up even if the cops threaten you. JUST REMAIN SILENT.

Because there is other drugs leagelized such alcohol and cigarettes that kill thousands of innocent people every year while canabis has no accounts of it killing any one. And if its because you dont like the way it makees you fill then dont smoke goes the same with alcohol and cigarettes. And besides it causes a lot of problems that shouldnt happen like gang fights. If it is legalized they wont fight for it. I mean do they fight for cigarettes. Makes you think doesnt it?????????

It's overdue. If it grows in the earth, no government has a right to say you can't use it, for whatever purpose. It was created for a reason. Or did it evolve over millions of years to serve us as we serve it only to be betrayed by suit and ties.

Marijuana can do no harm to society. And about the theory that legalising marijuana would create unemployment and lack of motivation at work, and hence bringing in less taxes, is really irrelevant, first of all because the chances of people putting marijuana (non-addictive organic - in most growing methods if legalised - light drug) before work are extremely slim, and secondly because you need money to buy the marijuana... (I say secondly because it's slightly irrelevant since marijuana prices would go so low from legalization)... and on the good side, it would CREATE employment, the 1000s of dealers around the country and eventually the world would be recognised and pay taxes on their ever increasing revenue... not to mention this would cut crime-levels by a lot, including violent crimes related to the black market of dealing marijuana.
