REPEAL or AMEND all laws that attempt to charge the public for access to public land to ensure the public has FREE, undiluted access to their own public lands.

The public has entrusted National Park Service (NPS) to protect and maintain the public lands and resources therein for the benefit of the public; however they charge the public to access the public's own collectively-owned public resource.

The NPS, and all other public service agencies/entities, should not be able to charge the public for members of the public to access their own land. This seems to be a blatant abuse of public trust and a dilution of the rights of the public to their own collective property.

RESTORE the RIGHT of access to public lands, free of charge. We own the land, we pay to maintain and protect the land with tax allocation and we do not support being charged for access by the public servants that we employ.  Signees of this petition support an amendment to remove the charging clauses from all legislation related to public land access and operation.

Free access to public lands is a right, not a privilege to be charged to obtain.

----------------------------
It seems the law that authorized the charging of the public for access is the FEDERAL LAND RECREATION ENHANCEMENT ACT (2005); if any other laws also authorize charging of the public for use of public resources, we intent to include those in this amendment movement:

The Forest Service used to charge for public access to public lands for a time and this has already been proven unlawful in court of law in California and we hope to extend this freedom to apply for National Parks, as well:

LET THERE BE FREE FOREST ACCESS.
