Ban Cat and Dog Fur in Canada!

Canadians are unknowingly wearing winter gear trimmed in cat and dog fur. Because Canada doesn't require fur items to be labeled, customers may have no idea what species gave their lives for their hats, parkas and gloves.

A new bill could change that. Recently, MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith introduced Bill C-246, which would update animal protection codes to ban imports of cat and dog fur into Canada. This would prevent customers from wearing the fur of their beloved pets' relatives without interfering with local hunting interests.

While animal activists continue to push for a complete ban on fur products, this bill is an important step forward in protecting consumers' interests and the lives of animals we love. Please sign the petition to urge the Canadian Parliament to pass Bill C-246 and ban cat and dog fur in Canada!

I am shocked that Canadians are unknowingly wearing winter gear trimmed in cat and dog fur. Because Canada doesn't require fur items to be labeled, customers may have no idea what species gave their lives for their hats, parkas and gloves.

Thankfully, a new bill could change that. Recently, MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith introduced Bill C-246, which would update animal protection codes to ban imports of cat and dog fur into Canada. This would prevent customers from wearing the fur of their beloved pets' relatives without interfering with local hunting interests.

I believe that his bill is an important step forward in protecting consumers' interests and the lives of animals we love. I respectfully urge you to pass Bill C-246 and ban cat and dog fur in Canada. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this petition.
