Tell the Senate to Pass Legislation Against Child Sex Trafficking

Right now, there are 12 bills up for a vote in Congress that would deal a major blow to the vile sex trafficking industry.

This important legislation would create stronger protections for trafficking victims, as well as enforce stronger punishments on criminals who buy and sell children for sex.

We must call on our elected officials to pass the entire package of bills through the Senate to protect vulnerable children from exploitation. This legislation died in the Senate at the close of the last legislative cycle — and we cannot let this happen again.

Sign the petition today urging the government to take a strong stand against sex trafficking in the U.S. — starting with the passage of these 12 bills.
Dear Senators,

Last spring, the House passed several bills that fight human trafficking, but they died in the Senate at the close of the last legislative cycle.

Now, 12 anti-trafficking bills are up for a vote, including revamped versions of legislation introduced last year.

As a concerned citizen who cares about protecting our nation's youth, I urge you to sponsor this important legislation:

1. S. 166: The Stop Exploitation Through Trafficking Act of 2015, which requires states to pass laws so that trafficked minors receive social services instead of being prosecuted

2. H.R. 515: The International Megan's Law to Prevent Demand for Child Sex Trafficking of 2015, which requires other countries to notify the U.S. when American child-sex offenders travel there

3. S. 572: The Stop Advertising Victims of Exploitation (SAVE) Act of 2015, which prohibits knowingly advertising the sexual services of a minor or trafficked person

4. H.R. 350: The Human Trafficking Prevention, Intervention, and Recovery Act of 2015, which will review federal and state anti-trafficking methods to improve existing resources and provide shelter for victims of trafficking

5. H.R. 514: The Human Trafficking Prioritization Act of 2015, which will amend existing trafficking laws to increase effectiveness within the State Department

6. H.R. 357: The Human Trafficking Prevention Act of 2015, which will amend existing laws to expand anti-trafficking training for Federal Government personnel

7. H.R. 468: Enhancing Services for Runaway and Homeless Victims of Youth Trafficking Act of 2015, which will improve services for runaway and homeless youth who are victims of trafficking

8. H.R. 469: Strengthening Child Welfare Response to Trafficking Act of 2015, which will improve the identification and assessment of child victims of sex trafficking

9. S. 205: Trafficking Awareness Training for Health Care Act of 2015, which will provide best practices for health care professionals to recognize and respond to victims of trafficking

10. S. 623: The Human Trafficking Detection Act of 2015, which will train Department of Homeland Security personnel how to prevent human trafficking

11. H.R. 246: Amendment to the Missing Children's Assistance Act, which will provide a way to report instances of Internet-related child trafficking and sexual exploitation

12. S. 140: Combat Human Trafficking Act of 2015, which will increase penalties for both sellers and buyers of sex acts through trafficking and strengthen the rights of trafficked children

I also hope you will vote YES on Amendment 271, which would amend the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015 to include the Homeless Children and Youth Act.

Thank you in advance for helping to protect America's kids from human trafficking.

Sincerely,
