#SaveStJohns - Save St Johns Market in Liverpool your local community market from mis-management by Liverpool City Council

We are St Johns Market Traders Association, and your/our Market is being run down to allow Liverpool City Council to fill it with LCC Offices because it only costs LCC 1 peppercorn a year to rent. They want to ignore the Kings Charter and kill off the market so they can tell you how clever they are at saving money on their bloated offices. They made 60 million pounds from St Johns, all squandered and now they have just wasted 2.5 million pounds on the pretend refit to facilitate the offices. When other major cities are building & renovating their local markets for the benefit of their residents, LCC have built a clinical lookalike for storage wars for their own agenda. Completely ignoring the traders. New traders have come in at their behest and had to close due to lack of footfall due to LCC negligence and mismanagement.
Imagine a 2.5 million pound project that had no marketing budget? Imagine a 2.5 million pound project that was quoted for 2 years before it was delivered, so that by the time of delivery it was underfunded. To accommodate the underfund (big mistake) they just reduced the area of the building which they would refit. (i.e., half a job)
Imagine a project where they forgot to budget for signs, phone lines, wifi and much more?
They will not listen to us, so we hope they will listen to you?

I support the St Johns Market Traders in their bid to #SaveStJohns from the mismanagement of Liverpool City Council. I want to save one of the countries oldest and best-loved markets for the greater Liverpool community and future generations. Please listen to the traders.
