On May 25th a Nebraska Judge let Richard Thompson off on probation even though he was found guilty of child molestation. Judge Kristine Cecava claimed he was too short for prison and worried he might be hurt. These excuses are a frightening trend in America. Say NO to light punishment for convicted criminals!

Further more, I feel that any person charged and found guilty with such act should be put to death for this is a illness that can NEVER be treated. keeping such a person alive confined in the prison system is only adding more salt to the victim's families because it is their money that is feeding, housing and catering to these sap's needs. The old laws should come back into effect where such a person would stand trial and after being found guilty they would be put to death that day. this law still is in effect in some countries. Why is it not in ours?? I believe in human rights, but these people are inhuman to be able to follow threw with such a crude act. Please help protect the future of our children by pushing stiffer laws to these crimes. It is not civil for a first offence DUI offender to receive more time then a repeat child sex offender. |

As concerned citizens we bring this petition to you to ask that you make a few changes. We believe in an America where our children can live safely. We believe that convicted criminals should not get off on light sentencing. We are asking that you reverse Richard W. Thompson's sentencing and will ensure that this type of conviction will not occur again. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
