Send Gratitude to Those Giving Hope to Families Affected by HIV and AIDS

Since 1971, Family Health International (FHI), has been helping families create better futures for themselves.

FHI brings hope to poor and disadvantaged people throughout the developing world by managing public health services, investigating new drugs to prevent and treat infectious disease and bringing partners together to serve even the most remote communities with education, prevention and treatment. While the battle is far from over, huge strides have been made -- particularly with HIV and AIDS. Over the past three decades, FHI's team of more than 2,500 people in 55 countries:

- completed the first clinical trial of oral tenofovir for HIV prevention

- proved that a simple, inexpensive regimen of nevirapine for pregnant women can significantly reduce mother-to-child HIV transmission

- was selected by USAID, NIAID and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to manage global efforts to prevent HIV infections

- collaborated with the African Network for the Care of Children Affected by AIDS to create the Handbook on Pediatric AIDS in Africa.
Join us in sending a message of thanks to the global staff of FHI for everything they have done to help improve the health and lives of millions of families. Every child deserves to live a life free from the ravages of AIDS and other chronic and infectious diseases. Encourage FHI to keep up their vitally important work!
