Shut Down Live Nativity - Animals Are Not Entertainment!

Stormy the cow has escaped captivity at a live nativity set twice now. She clearly has no interest in being used in this way. As a Philadelphia citizen, I am apalled that a local church would use animals in this way.

Sign my petition to demand that Stormy is freed and this church ends their live nativity practice.

There are so many ways to celebrate the season without exploiting animals. Since Stormy was being difficult and hard to control, the church has now replaced her with a smaller cow, Ginger. But neither cow needs to be in this live nativity. Stormy and now Ginger are actually in danger because when Stormy escaped, she ended up on a highway where she could have been hurt or even killed!

The nativity also has a sheep, donkey and goats. All of this is meant to be essentially a tourist attraction for families. But I don't think that animals should be used as entertainment in this way. Not to mention that police had to handle Stormy's two-time escape, which really seem like a waste of public resources.

Please sign to ask the church to end the involvement of live animals in their nativity, we don't need to teach our children that exploiting animals is an appropriate Christmas activity.
