Congress: Deschedule Marijuana and Regulate it like Alcohol

Twenty-five states have legalized marijuana for medical purposes, and four states and the District of Columbia have legalized marijuana for recreational use. This November, five more states may vote on legalization.

But marijuana is still a Schedule 1 drug, meaning it's illegal federally and deemed by the federal government to have a high potential for abuse with NO accepted medical purposes.

With so many states taking action, and with evidence mounting that marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco, it's time for Congress to get out of the way and let states set their own policies.

The Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act, HR1013, will de-schedule marijuana and get the federal government out of the way. It's time for common sense marijuana policy. Please sign the petition calling on Congress to end the federal prohibition of marijuana!

To whom it may concern:

I urge you to support Jared Pollis’ bill, HR1013, that will deschedule marijuana and regulate it like alcohol. Marijuana is a relatively safe drug that has been shown to be no more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco, and has been used by more than 100 million Americans. Its prohibition has led to disastrous levels of violence and corruption.

As a Schedule 1 drug marijuana is deemed to have no medical benefit and a high potential for abuse, even though half the states in the country have legalized marijuana for medical purposes, and four more have legalized it for recreational use. It’s time to deschedule marijuana and regulate it like alcohol. Please support HR1013 and deschedule marijuana today.
