Save The Tree!!!
Pastor Jones,
The signatures below are representing the voices asking you to reconsider your decision to cut down the 200 year old Bur Oak tree that resides in the front yard of your church. That tree represents one of the only remaining original pieces of Centralia, it's history and honor. The tree poses no actual threat to you or your congregation. It has been found to be sound and healthy by the very tree trimmer you asked to cut it down. Your asking for $75,000 appears to be nothing less than extortion. Your setting of the 30 day time limit for the city to "give you the money or the tree comes down" appears to be nothing less than blackmail asking for a ransom. This tree has provided shade to your children while they play in the yard. And, being a Man of Faith, you should be first to show that you would not harm one leaf on a branch. That tree is a gift from the Man you serve. Please listen to our plea to stop the saw. Listen with your heart and not your ears. Show the community that you will do the right thing and spare the tree.
