Tell the PA State Legislature: "It's Time to Raise the Wage!"

Every state surrounding Pennsylvania has voted to raise the minimum wage, but our low-wage workers are still stuck at the bare federal minimum of $7.25 an hour. We need a $10.10 per hour minimum wage that is indexed to inflation and includes tipped workers.

Tell the PA state legislature it's time to Raise the Wage!

Recently, state senator Scott Wagner claimed that our state's $7.25 minimum wage isn't the problem. It's the workers. Speaking to the state Senate earlier this year, he claimed there were jobs available, but:

"There are a couple things required: #1, you would have to have an alarm clock, and you'd have to be able to get out of bed. You would have to be able to pass a drug test, and have some work ethic. This is a problem, and it's all over this country."

We are calling out politicians like Wagner who misconstrue low-wage workers as having a 'work ethic' problem, when the reality is that low-wage workers juggle multiple jobs, long hours and zero time with families just to put food on the table.

Join us to push back against Wagner's ignorant claims and tell the state legislature it's time to "Raise the Wage!"
Dear [Decision Maker],

I am writing to urge you to increase the minimum wage in Pennsylvania.

Some politicians have portrayed low-wage workers as having a 'work ethic' problem, when the reality is that low-wage workers juggle multiple jobs, long hours and zero time with families just to put food on the table.

We need a $10.10 minimum wage, indexed to inflation and including tipped workers. State legislators need to raise the wage or Working Families will hold them accountable.
