Tell Spokesman Review to revoke their endorsement of Steve McLaughlin for Commissioner of Public Lands

Steve McLaughlin is running for Washington’s Commissioner of Public Lands and wants to be in charge of the millions of acres of forests and coast line we all share. But it’s become clear he doesn’t share our state’s values.

  •  News stories across the state have connected McLaughlin to radical anti-government extremist groups. Reporters discovered he was involved with the anti-public lands group Coalition of Western States. He even signed a letter with them defending convicted arsonists who set fire to federal public lands in Oregon and sparked the Malheur Wildlife Refuge takeover last winter.

  •  He was just named to the League of Conservation Voters national “Dirty Dozen in the States”, a list of the 12 most anti-environment state-level candidates across the country.

  • And McLaughlin has already taken thousands in timber money, the same industry he’d regulate as Commissioner, and has openly questioned human activity causing climate change.

The Spokesman Review in Spokane is the top paper for Washington’s 2nd largest city. On October 15th, the paper’s editorial board endorsed McLaughlin to be our next Commissioner.

Sign this petition to tell the Spokesman to revoke their endorsement and show their readers that Steve McLaughlin is unfit for Washington.
