Stand Up for Survival: Support Lung Cancer Research

Lung cancer claims more lives each year than breast, colon and prostate cancer combined.

221,000 people are diagnosed with lung cancer every year, and approximately 158,000 lives are lost. That's a survival rate of a mere 17%.

Despite the shockingly low survival rate compared to other cancers, the funding for life-saving research doesn't match that of other similar diseases: breast, colon and prostate cancer receive 7.5 times more research funding per life lost than lung cancer.

If we want to increase the lung cancer survival rate, then we need to dramatically increase research funds for patient treatment, clinical trials and community support.

That's why Free to Breathe is encouraging all of us to step up and raise our voices this November for Lung Cancer Awareness Month.

Join in by taking action in support of much-needed lung cancer research. Together, we can help ensure lung cancer survival is the expectation, not the exception.
