Please hear me out. I am 17 years old and I would like to get Australia and Indonesia back as an alliance. As an Indonesian, I believe that what my country's president did was wrong, about the Bali nine death sentence. It is wrong definitely, therefore, I would like to apologize on behalf of my country. As a teenager, maybe I do not understand the adult world just yet. However, I know that it is hard to forgive. I am not asking you to forgive the action of my president but I would like you to give my country a second chance.
Please do not boycott us. Allow your people to travel to our country and visit our lovely country, especially Bali. You may have disagreement with our government and our president but please do not boycott our country. This is the 21st century, there should not be a rule whereby Australian cannot travel to Bali. I understand that you did this for the safety of your citizen and protect them as much as you can but it was not our fault that the decision was made. It was the president who made it, not the citizens.
I promise you that the Indonesian will be more than welcome to accept Australian as they are lovely people. The reason why I have this petition is because there are families who would like to visit their relatives and they could not due to the boycotting. In this case, my best friend is not allowed to come to Bali for his own safety and in the end, our trip was cancelled and it was unfortunate. I hope that the Australia-Indonesia relation will strengthen and befriend each other soon so that families can meet and my best friend could visit my home town. I hope that this petition will be carried out. Thank you for signing.
