Demand that Russia, Syria & Iran urgently protect civilians in Syria

On December 13, in a matter of hours at least 82 civilians in Aleppo, including children, were shot on the spot by government and allied forces who entered their homes, or at gunpoint in the streets. People in East Aleppo posted their final goodbyes online as government forces attempted to gain full control of the city. Instead of being given a safe path out, they were trapped, and faced torture or execution.

The lives of tens of thousands of people are in the hands of the Russian, Syrian and Iranian governments. The people of Syria have suffered enough.

Join our urgent call for the safe evacuation of civilians and the deployment of UN monitors to protect people from harm.

To the governments of Syria, Iran and the Russian Federation:

I urgently call on your governments to:

>> Ensure continued evacuation of civilians and unfettered humanitarian access to ensure life-saving aid can reach all those in need;

>> Allow UN monitors to be urgently deployed in Aleppo to ensure that civilians and fighters who surrender are protected from execution-style killings, arbitrary detention, disappearance, torture

I stand with the people of Syria who have now endured years of brutal armed conflict. Please act now to protect civilians.

Update #17 years ago
Evacuations from Aleppo have been resumed and the UN Security Council finally has a resolution to allow UN monitors into Syria. But civilians are still at grave risk. Please keep sharing the action to press Syria, Russia and Iran to allow for the UN monitors to be deployed immediately ensure civilians have safe passage from Aleppo and other areas of evacuation, and to investigate war crimes.
