Tell Big Food Not To Drop GMO Labeling!

Congress caved to Big Food's pressure to kill state-based GMO labeling laws, and the USDA will now take two years to implement any labeling requirements. But what will happen to GMO labels already in stores?

Companies like General Mills, PepsiCo and Kellogg's started labeling their genetically modified foods, with Vermont's labeling deadline in mind. But will they keep it up? If you want to continue to see labels in these companies' products, they need to hear from you.

Tell the company CEOs that we value their transparency, and to keep up the GMO labeling!
Continue labeling your genetically engineered products

Dear CEO,

With S. 764 enacted into law this week, I am writing to urge you to continue to label your products that are produced, or partially produced, with genetic engineering.

Your company has already made the investment to identify products containing genetically engineered ingredients and update product packaging to inform consumers. This is also an investment in consumer confidence and transparency. Consumers like me would be deeply concerned and disappointed in your company to see it discontinued.

Nine out of ten Americans want GMO labeling, and they want the information on the package in an easy to read format. Polls have shown that consumers far prefer disclosures like the ones that currently appear on your products, rather than options like QR codes or 1-800 numbers which are more difficult to use.

[Your Comment] I urge you to continue to provide the GMO product labeling you have already instituted until such time as USDA issues new regulations. As a consumer of your products, I would appreciate knowing what your policy will be moving forward.

Sincerely,
