We demand a ban on hunting captive animals for sport in South Africa.

Botswana's controversial decision not to issue hunting licences as from next year can be a push for the South African economy, but - on the other hand - it can also place the country's wildlife in the sight of poachers from this and other neighbouring states. Hunting for sport is inhumane and barbaric and should not be allowed to thrive in South Africa regardless of the positive economic impact brough about by this industry. we demand that the South African government also place a ban on the issue of hunting licences, both occasional and dedicated, to allow our endangered wildlife to flourish. No living being should be subject to captivity only to be violently hunted by those who see this as a past time. we demand that the government recognize animals as sentient beings and as such, accord them the basic dignity of life. Taking into account the fact that the South African government does not expressly acknowledge online petitions, your signatures will be converted into a hardcopy and posted to the relevant authorities. your signature is invaluable and will help our cause immensely.
