One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. And America's next political leaders can save lives - but only if you let them know that you expect them to make breast cancer a national priority in their platforms and for our country.
Women are dying every day, and common-sense policies could ensure every woman in America - regardless of her income - has access to life-saving early detection. We must invest in translational research, fully fund the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection program and ensure all women diagnosed with breast cancer have access to high-quality treatment.
Tell the candidates: We want a plan to end breast cancer forever!

My mother had breast cancer when I was 6, & it was one of those 'coincidences'... she & my dad decided to take advantage of a one-day health fair, that happened to be offering breast exams, I believe. She was 42, feeling fine, & they found a lump. In 1974, they set her up with an appointment at the hospital, & while she was under anesthesia, my dad had to authorize the removal of her breast. Radical mastectomy, cobalt treatments, & trying to take care of her husband & 4 kids. What I learned from this experience is that we (women) have to take care of ourselves, or nobody will, & early detection plus being aware of our bodies & our processes, is vital. How I look back on this event in the life of our family, is that as an adult, I appreciate & am much more thankful I didn't lose my mother when a child.

Educate women about the danger of wearing bras. If a woman must wear a bra for work, she ought at least to be ducking into the restroom and lightly massaging the lymph nodes all around her breasts every hour or two.

Cancer is a great money maker for big Pharma. The question is, Mr. President, are you in your position for the people or for Big Pharma? The cure for cancer is ALREADY available, however, transportation is the key. Stop spending funds on "research" and start spending it reproducing this cure/vaccine and transportation to get it to those who need it. It disgusts me that this cure (which has been PROVEN!!!!!!!) is being hidden from almost all Americans and throughout the world. Stop allowing American media to tell what they please, they should be exposing this cure and saving lives.
