ATTN: ALL CURRENT AND POTENTIAL RESIDENTS OF ASPEN HEIGHTS IN STILLWATER
I understand the management team of Aspen Heights is doing their best to accommodate their residents and make the environment here a safe one. The steps and actions they have taken though to do so have been unnecessarily severe. Not allowing visitors to enter the property under any circumstances unless accompanied by the resident and the heavy presence of officers is outrageous.
Instead of working with the residents to counteract what was a grave incident and move forward in an appropriate manner, they completely compromised the resident's convenience, right to have guests, and their right to privacy. The increase presence of officers actually makes each resident feel targeted and constantly watched by the officers. It essentially strips away our privacy. Even if the officers still patrolled yet kept the entry of guests open then I would be open to that as well.
Why this matters? Well, you should fight for your right as a resident. Most sit back and accept the policy and rules inconveniently enforced, but as residents, we have voices. We should use them and make what we are paying for a fulfilled living experience like we were promised when we signed our lease. Ultimately, I feel there are more options on the table and I would like for the management team to reconsider the actions they have taken, decrease the presence of officers, extend the pool hours back to unlimited status, and allow an open entry of guests.
