Help Haitians Rebuild Their Lives

Jean was 15 when the earthquake shattered his neighborhood of Carrefour Feuilles in Port-au-Prince. With rubble all around him, the teenager couldn’t picture having a new home, let alone a new career.

But after the earthquake, Jean enrolled in Global Communities’ construction training program. He was then hired by a contractor working near his hometown. Now, Jean is spending his days working as part of a team to build roads, reconstruct 12 schools and improve water and sanitation services at 30 schools, increase water access for residents, create new public spaces, and reinforce or expand more than 300 houses.

Community-centric development helps bring about sustainable changes that improve the lives and livelihoods of the world's most vulnerable people. In Haiti, this means giving people like Jean the tools to build their lives following the devastating earthquake in 2010.

These efforts need strong public support to keep going. Take action today and stand up for community development and rebuilding efforts in Haiti.
