Tell Ringling Brothers to Release Their Animals to Wildlife Sanctuaries

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus took a step in the right direction when they finally stopped forcing elephants to perform in their shows. But the fight for animal justice isn't over yet.

Ringling Bros. has shipped their captive elephants to the Center for Elephant Conservation (CEC), a breeding farm in Florida. But removing elephants from their circus has not stopped the circus' pattern of animal abuse — tigers, horses, and lions are still dragged around the country and forced to perform for Ringling Bros. circus, and Ringling Bros. elephants are still living in captivity.

The conditions at the CEC are appalling. Elephants are kept in shackles, used for breeding, and threatened with bullhooks. According to sworn testimony from the head of the CEC, elephants are chained to one place for most of the day, and pregnant mothers are still shackled when they give birth.

The animals being exploited by Ringling Bros. deserve to live free from captivity and abuse. Please sign my petition and urge the Ringling Brothers Circus to release their captive animals to reputable wildlife sanctuaries!
To Nicole Feld, Exec. VP of Feld Entertainment for Ringling Brothers:

While I praise your decision to remove elephants from all Ringling Brothers circus acts, I am deeply concerned that they have been sent to the Center for Elephant Conservation (CEC) instead of a wildlife sanctuary.

According to sworn testimony from the head of the CEC, elephants are kept in shackles, threatened with bullhooks, and used for breeding purposes. These conditions are not much better than the conditions elephants lived in while on the road, and I strongly urge you to end the use of wild animals in your circus acts and release them to safe, reputable sanctuaries.
