Congress: Don't Make Seniors Pay More to Keep Their Doctors!

  • by: AARP
  • recipient: United States Congress
For years, Congress has debated how best to stabilize Medicare pay for doctors. The issue has serious ramifications for Seniors across America - and without real solutions many risk losing their primary doctors.

Seniors have paid into Medicare through a lifetime of hard work and they deserve the security of knowing they can keep seeing the doctors they know and trust.

Too often, though, Congress's solutions involve forcing seniors to pay more.

It's time for Congress to take real, responsible measures to prevent seniors from losing their doctors by clamping down on drug companies' high prices, not forcing seniors to pay more.

Congress has kicked the can down the road for too long, but fixing this broken payment system on the backs of seniors is the wrong solution.

Help us send a message to Congress today: It's time for a solution that helps seniors keep their doctors without placing the burden on already strained pocketbooks!
Dear [Representative],

When considering solutions for our Medicare reimbursement system, we need fixes that will encourage their physicians and providers to deliver high-quality care and reign in drug companies' high prices - without unnecessarily passing costs on to seniors or forcing them to leave their primary physicians.

Congress has kicked the can down the road for too long, but fixing this broken payment system on the backs of seniors is the wrong solution. Please, this year take serious action to create a responsible new payment system that will ensure doctors are paid fairly and seniors’ can continue to see the doctors they trust.
