Central Florida Methodist Daycare: Don't Discriminate Against Lesbian Teachers!

Despite being adored by parents and her class of young children at Aloma Methodist Childhood Learning Center in central Florida, teacher Jaclyn Pfeiffer was fired after the daycare's Christian management found out she was a lesbian. She didn't share that information with managers until she was asked if she was in a relationship with substitute teacher Kelly Bardier, who had recently started working at the daycare as well.

In a letter sent out to parents, Aloma Methodist Learning Center's director acknowledges Jaclyn is "a wonderful teacher" who is "very gifted with the children". She states that Jaclyn left for "personal reasons".

Aloma Methodist Early Childhood Learning Center receives over $4,000 in Florida taxpayer funds per child for a year of daycare. It's outrageous that they are taking taxpayer dollars to discriminate! In addition, the United Methodist Church opposes "all forms of violence or discrimination based on gender, gender identity, sexual practice or sexual orientation."

Aloma Methodist Early Childhood Learning Center has behaved horribly and is not acting in the best interests of their children or their faith by firing these two well-regarded teachers. Sign the petition today demanding Aloma Methodist leaders apologize and immediately retract firing these women they have discriminated against!

It's outrageous that you are receiving taxpayer funds, yet have discriminated against these two teachers. Additionally, the UMC Book of Discipline opposes "all forms of violence or discrimination based on gender, gender identity, sexual practice or sexual orientation." Not only are you showing unchristian treatment of these two women, you are also violating your denomination's own rules.

Apologize and retract firing these two teachers immediately.
