Thanks to it's misleading name and misguided ideas about what the act really means, the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortions Act" (H.R. 3) passed in the House.
Despite this act's confusing name, taxpayer-funded abortions have been banned for the last 30 years under the Hyde Amendment, a permanent federal law. Provisions in H.R. 3 will
-make it more difficult for private insurance to cover abortions
-will deny tax credits to small businesses that purchase insurance plans that offer abortion coverage
-subject victims of rape and incest to abortion audits by the IRS, dragging out the aftermath of an awful crime for the victim
H.R. 3 is about more than just denying taxpayer money for abortions, it's about taking away a woman's right to affordable reproductive health care.
H.R. 3 is now up for vote in the Senate, and they need to know that America supports every woman's right to affordable heath care coverage. Stand with all women and tell them to vote no on H.R. 3.
The "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortions Act" is detrimental to the health of women throughout the country and must not be passed.
Taxpayer funding for abortions has been banned for the last 30 years under the Hyde Amendment. H.R. 3 will make it nearly impossible for women to purchase abortion coverage through private insurance companies, taking away their choice of health care coverage, even when taxpayers are not funding it. It will also make it extremely difficult for employers to offer health care with abortion coverage.
H.R. 3 is not about taxpayer funding, it is about limiting women's options for vital health care coverage, and we cannot allow it to continue.

I urge you to stand up for women's health care and vote no on H.R. 3.
