Tell Congress no to the use of nuclear bunker bombs on Iran

Congress must be urged not to use nuclear weapons in Iran
13 prominent physicists have written an open letter to President Bush in which they said the use of nuclear weapons on a non nuclear country like Iran was "gravely irresponsible".  Their use would have "disasterous consequences for the security of the US and the world".  They "urge the American people to make their voices heard on this matter"  (http:physics.ucsd.edu/petition;/physicistsletter.html)  Seymour Hirsch in his "New Yorker" articles says top Pentagon people are very upset that they are being asked to use nuclear weapons and that the plans are at the operational level, not just contingency.  This country is already very vulnerable to nuclear terrorism, far more than the public realises, writes Graham Allison of Harvard.  This would make us far more vulnerable, as well as placing our military in Iraq in extreme danger from Iraqi Shiites.  Our ships in the Gulf will be "sitting ducks" from advanced Iranian military capacity, according to military experts.  Fundamentalists will probably take over Pakistan and its nuclear weapons as a result. Iran is a serious problem but they are years from making a nuclear bomb and have asked to negotiate directly with this country which has been refused because it is thought the administration wants regime change rather than accommodation. Whatever the final solution (negotiations or military action), nuclear weapons should not be a part of it.  It will endanger the entire western world.  Please let your Congressman and Senators know you oppose the use of nuclear weapons in Iran.
