Demand that they stop indirectly discriminate the ticket sales!

On April 15th I have filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada against the named Defendants:

National Football League
Seattle Seahawks
First and Goal (Washington)
Washington State Public Stadium Authority
Lorraine Hines (Chair for Washington State Public Stadium Authority)
TicketMaster

This complaint was based on several factors, which has directly affected me as well as a large number of people from California and other areas.

I have decided that if the San Francisco 49ers beat the Carolina Panthers, which they did, then I would want to buy tickets through TicketMaster for me, my roommate, my love of my life and her daughter, which none of them ever been to a Professional Football game.

However on that same day the Seattle Seahawks announced that they would only sell tickets to the play off games to the people who live in the States of Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Hawaii, Alaska and the providence British Columbia and Alberta.

This is what Seattle calls their (DMA) or Designate Media Area, though they are selling tickets to a country which does not even participate with the NFL, but they do have fans there. After Seattle made this announcement, the Denver Broncos followed suite only selling tickets to several states as well.

Which both teams said they got the permission from the NFL to sell tickets how they like.

However it is ironic that all states named from both teams but one, have no State Scalping Laws in effect. Makes you have to think what’s really going on?

Seattle stated if you live in California or anywhere else you can buy tickets through NFL Exchange or StubHub, which is a legalized online scalping site, which is owned by TicketMaster. The team is promoting and forcing people to buy tickets on a site, which is for bidding and at crazy prices.

Years ago a average family were able to take their families to a game, which I had the pleasure of in the late 60’s to see John Brodie play with the 49ers at Candlestick and seeing other games throughout the years. However now you are lucky to buy two tickets to a game without spending tons of money, which most Americans can’t afford. And they call this a family and American sport? A sport for the rich and not the average family to go see.

First and Goal was put together by Paul Allan who is also the Owner of the Seattle Seahawks. First and Goal overseas the tickets and whatever goes on at CenturyField during any Seahawks games and possible other event. With Mr. Allen having a joint in both as well being a top executive at Microsoft makes First and Goal to only favor what The Seahawks want instead of what is fair to the Public.

Washington Public Stadium Authority allows this even though the State is up and over every Stadium and Arena that happens in the State of Washington. Lorraine Hines is the Chair.

A National Football Game is a National and Public event in a Stadium paid for by taxpayer’s money as well as donations and individuals that gave money to help built the stadium. The game is not a Private Event or a regional game or in a privately owned stadium.

When tickets go on sale to the general public for a Public Event, regardless if it is Football, Baseball, Hockey, Basketball, Soccer or any other sporting event or concert, the tickets go on sale on a first come first served, not who they want in the crowd. I know that Seahawks and Broncos and their fans like what they did, however if the games where in San Francisco or in New England then they would have a different story.

With Football it is a competitive game, how the teams plays and how they play against each other and if it is a home game or a game away from home. It comes down to the players, not a team allowing and in directly promoting their audience to scream as loud as they can to distract the other teams quarterback so he can not make his calls and the audience interfering with the game as well as breaking Noise Abatement Laws. Like what the Seattle Seahawks do with the 12th man on the field.

Though the teams are franchises of the NFL, the teams still get permission from the NFL how to sell their tickets.

Many may or may not know that the NFL has a Non-profit status and had one since 1966 and haven’t paid taxes since that time. The teams however are franchises of the NFL and are for profit. I do understand the Antitrust Laws and also Interstate Commerce Laws that will come into effect with this case.

So the NFL don’t pay on the Stadium or they don’t pay taxes.

Last Year the NFL brought in over Twenty Billion Dollars.
However the NFL wants to keep their Non-profit status because by the time they pay out they are almost broke. But then you see NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell salary was 29.5 Million Dollars in 2011 and then up to 44.2 Million Dollars in 2012 vs coke CEO who made 21.2 Million in 2011 and 21.6 Million in 2012. So Mr. Goodell made twice as much income then the CEO of Coke and other major companies and the NFL claims they should keep their non-profit.

The Bottom Line

The Government and the People of America should come together and step up and stop having the NFL decide who can or cannot come to their games. These games are National and Public Event in a Stadium that have been paid for by the Taxpayers of America

The NFL should do what the Major Baseball League did.. give up their non-profit status, which the MBL did in 2007 and the MBL is still going on without interruption and not having that nonprofit status.

In 2012 the MBL brought in 7.5 Billon. They have more games each year then the NFL. Maybe if the NFL gave up their status at that the same time like the MBL did to now then the taxes they paid could have went to help cities like:

San Bernardino, CA North Las Vegas, NV
Detroit, MI Vallejo Ca To name a few
States that are about to go bankrupt that are hurting for money.

Things like Unemployment and other Government Agencies that help us Americans when we are in need… instead of claiming the NFL claiming they have no money when they are bringing in more money them most companies.

This comes to Billions of dollars per year to help Americans.

Sites like StubHub and NFL Exchange should be looked at since tickets go on sale there the same time they go on TicketMaster.

Lastly: Be Fair.. First come First Serve on tickets and stop indirectly discriminate on someone by where they live so they can or cannot buy a ticket to any games.
