Protect Medicare From Republican Opposition

Target: U.S. Senate
Sponsored by: Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
Our seniors have worked hard and paid their dues, and they deserve to know that Medicare will provide for their health needs now and in the future.

Senate Democrats are fighting to protect Medicare and keep it solvent for years. Senate Republicans are opposed to the concept. In fact, Senate candidate Roy Blunt of Missouri said it would have been "best" if Medicare never existed.

Declare your support for protecting Medicare! Urge the Senate to keep guaranteeing medical coverage for our nation's seniors. We can't let Republican ideology set the terms of the debate over Medicare -- it's just too important.

Dear Senator,

As the debate about health care reform rages on, one crucial fact remains: We must continue to protect Medicare and keep it solvent for years.

Our seniors have worked hard and paid their dues, and they deserve to know that Medicare will provide for their health needs now and in the future. But some Republicans are opposed to the concept. In fact, Senate candidate Roy Blunt of Missouri said it would have been "best" if Medicare never existed.

I completely disagree with Blunt's statement; Medicare must continue guaranteeing medical coverage for our nation's seniors.

I urge you to be strong in your support of Medicare.

Sincerely,

Here we are trying to make health care a better thing for our citizens and getting rid of Medicare would place that goal way out of reach. I can't believe we are trying to go backwards in our search for a better life.

I do not understand why the party of "no" just wants to defeat any and all policies / projects on this current administration; seems like "We the People" has taken a back seat to "The Party Must Win At All Cost"...

IF we establish a basic national system of medical care for all U.S. citizens, we would not need a separate system for seniors. (Maybe, if Medicare had not existed we would have been forced to fix the national health care problem sooner!)

Dear Senator, Democrats are at a crossroads. Are we going to fight for democracy for all? Are going to fight special interests? A great deal rests in your hands. I pray you think of the future of this country when you vote and not primarily your next election. Medicare is crucial to the welfare of this country.

it's unconscionable to do otherwise - Protect our medicate or our country will be in real trouble!!!! We will vote you out unless you take care of our elders who have worked hard all their lives. Sounds like Senate candidate Blunt is more concerned with protecting health insurance corporations and pharmaceutical interests than helping voters.
