Protect Medicare From Republican Opposition

Target: U.S. Senate
Sponsored by: Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
Our seniors have worked hard and paid their dues, and they deserve to know that Medicare will provide for their health needs now and in the future.

Senate Democrats are fighting to protect Medicare and keep it solvent for years. Senate Republicans are opposed to the concept. In fact, Senate candidate Roy Blunt of Missouri said it would have been "best" if Medicare never existed.

Declare your support for protecting Medicare! Urge the Senate to keep guaranteeing medical coverage for our nation's seniors. We can't let Republican ideology set the terms of the debate over Medicare -- it's just too important.

Dear Senator,

As the debate about health care reform rages on, one crucial fact remains: We must continue to protect Medicare and keep it solvent for years.

Our seniors have worked hard and paid their dues, and they deserve to know that Medicare will provide for their health needs now and in the future. But some Republicans are opposed to the concept. In fact, Senate candidate Roy Blunt of Missouri said it would have been "best" if Medicare never existed.

I completely disagree with Blunt's statement; Medicare must continue guaranteeing medical coverage for our nation's seniors.

I urge you to be strong in your support of Medicare.

Sincerely,

Only people who don't know how hard it is to live without health insurance would agree with the Republican opposition to protect Medicare. Some people with amassed fortunes or no perspective of their wealth in comparison to others, have no clue or concience as to how most people live

If the Pharmaceutical and Insurance Companies stop making HUGE profits Medicare would not be in trouble and would be able to serve the population. Medicare needs to be able to negotiate prices for prescrition druges. Also the age should be moved to 55 to help balance the income coming in and going out.
