Puppy mills are disheveled buildings in which the owners “mass produce” dogs – later selling them to pet stores, where people buy what they think are wonderful, healthy, happy puppies. Despite the bad reputation that pet stores have for selling dogs, far too many people still remain unaware of where these dogs come from and what they endure. Please help us stop this horrible industry.
I, as well as many other United States citizens, believe that puppy mills should be completely abolished. When I read all about the horrors of puppy mills on the Humane Society’s website and at stoppuppymills.org, I became incredibly saddened and nauseated. The poor dogs that are used to breed again, and again, and again are innocent beings that would not engage in those activities if they had a choice. Those dogs have feelings just as we people do. They can become sad and feel pain, just as you and I can. They need the same love and care that people do – and it is such a shame that they are put through that horror.
If you do not know the statistics regarding how many puppy mills exist, how many dogs are produced at them, and how many of them get sick and die, by all means, log onto the Humane Society’s website. I am sure that you will feel as bad as I did while reading about the issue.
With that said, I urge you to help. Please, do something about this horrible incident that is going on in our country. It takes 30 seconds to sign - and you can be a part in putting an end to this horrible industry.
