Whereas very ill and disabled people, some home- and/or wheelchair-bound, are not nationally granted the right to be provided a ride home from an ER(Emergency Room)visit and,
Whereas this constututes violation of the 14th Amendment, guarantees of equal provision and protection under the law as this service is provided in some, but not all, jurisdictions under Federal law and is required or implied by certain portions and legal understandings of the ADA(Americans with Disabilities Act which are being ignored in spirit and in fact,
We, the undersigned, do hereby exert our right to petition the government of our grievances regarding this matter, which exceeds the above provisions and is not necessarily dependent upon above said provisions, as the practice of leaving very ill and/or disabled people, some homebound and/or wheelchair bound individuals, to chance, harm, and personal endangerment from others, from whom they have no protection, is a morally and medically reprehensible and inhumane, and do hereby demand that all the federal, state, and local jurisdictions under US law immediately resolve this issue and provide tranportation to these individuals in dire need.
Suggested wording:
Be it resolved that the Federal Government, the States, and all their jurisdictions therein shall provide a contracted service within said jurisdictions which is non-exclusive to the above-mentioned individuals or funds given directly to said individuals at the medical institution sufficient to return them to their local residence, and assistance given to guarantee that tranportation is coming to pick up an individual of the above types before signature of discharge papers, and the actual discharge.
